November 2019
A proudly New Brunswick-based company, all of us at Vestcor are very active with a number of important causes in both our local and the larger national community. These efforts can vary from volunteering time, sharing professional expertise, or the donation of personal financial resources.
Below are the highlights of our recent fundraising efforts.
United Way
We set an ambitious goal to raise $12,000 in our 2018 United Way campaign, and we’re happy to confirm that we surpassed our target, raising $13,212. Our efforts put us 18th place in fundraising for the United Way Central New Brunswick Campaign. The United Way does so much good work locally, partnering with 33 community agencies to fund 57 programs and services. This kind of fundraising has a direct impact on our friends, our neighbours, and beyond. Fundraising for the 2019 campaign has begun in November of this year.
CIBC Run for the Cure (Fredericton)
Rallying together, our staff raised over $5,000 for this important cause. In addition, Vestcor’s Joggers for Jugs, a team of staff and their family, walked and ran at the event (with one of our own finishing in first place in the 5km race!). Overall, we ranked 4th in fundraising in Fredericton amongst Corporate teams. In addition, one of our team members placed 2nd overall for individual fundraising. Amazing work in support of breast cancer research!
Bowl for Kids Sake
Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fredericton and Oromocto, Vestcor was the number one team for fundraising in this year’s Bowl for Kids Sake. In addition to raising $3,195, 160% above our goal of $2000, two teams of staff members attended the event, showing off their bowling skills!
We’re are happy to be able to contribute to our community, and grateful for the brilliant fundraising organizers within Vestcor for all of their hard work and success.
