Two of Vestcor’s Investment Portfolio Staff Named Canadian TopGun Investment Minds | November 9, 2021

Vestcor is proud to congratulate Mark Holleran and Ben MacFarlane, members of the Equity Team, on their selection as members of the Top Gun Investment Minds by Brendan Wood International. Brendan Wood International is a consulting firm in the capital markets industry specializing in performance measuring and intelligence gathering.

Nominations are determined through interviews with a panel of over 500 leading investment professionals working as investment bankers and broker dealers (also known in the investment world as the “sell-side” as they are responsible for selling equities, such as stocks). The interviews focus on the sell-side view of global investments. As the name suggests, the buy-side represents the firms the purchase equities, including pension funds, hedge funds, and investment managers. The sell-side panel singled out Mark and Ben as being among the most accomplished investors in the Canadian investment industry.

Ben and Mark noted, “It’s always appreciated to be acknowledged by our peers for our abilities and performance for investment decision making.   As well, it recognizes Vestcor’s investment team’s reputation as a highly skilled manager, but most importantly, it assists our clients meeting their long-term investment goals”.   This is Ben’s first selection and Mark’s second consecutive selection.
