Vestcor Hosts Its First Annual Client Forum | July 15, 2019

On June 10 and 11, 2019, we welcomed our clients to our inaugural Vestcor Client Forum held in Fredericton, NB.  Our clients include members of trustee boards and committees related to the pension and employee benefit plans we administer. The Forum provided an opportunity for our clients to network amongst each other, meet Vestcor’s Board of Directors and hear from members of our Management Team.

Vestcor covered important and timely topics relevant to clients, including:

• An overview of client cost allocations, provided by Jan Imeson, Chief Financial Officer
• Updates to our responsible investing practices, presented by Jon Spinney, Chief Investment Officer
• An introduction to portfolio stress testing, a service provided internally by our newly created Risk Management Unit, led by Ying Wu
• A review of our 2018 results and the launch of the 2018 Annual Report, by John Sinclair, President and Chief Executive Officer

In addition, three well-regarded guest speakers shared their insights on Communications, Cybersecurity and Governance.  Allan Gates, Chief Executive Officer of New Brunswick-based Bonfire Communications, opened the Forum with a presentation and discussion on communicating during challenging times.  David Shipley, Chief Executive Officer of Beauceron Security provided a cybersecurity update entitled “The future is not what it used to be”, and Jennifer Clement, Audit Partner with KPMG, imparted the group important information relating to Board Governance Financial Risk Management.
